My indecisive side (that comes with being a Libra) always gets the better of me when ordering at a restaurant. Too many offerings confuse me and my cravings are almost always at conflict with my brain 'cause I obviously can't order everything that looks tempting on the menu. And that's when tasting menus come in handy, you pass the ball and let the experts pick your meal. Not only is this convenient but also gives you the chance to enjoy every course since the portion sizes are smaller to accommodate each of them. Additionally, it lets you sample the food at bougie restaurants at a much more pocket-friendly price point which only makes the experience sweeter.

Here are seven restaurants in Delhi that we would recommend you to visit for the same.

Indian Accent

Indian Accent is one of the most sought-after luxury restaurants in the capital. If you have even a speck of fascination for food, then you already know about it. Headed by Chef Manish Mehrotra and Chef Shantanu Mehrotra, the restaurant has won several accolades and tends to remain one of those 'desirable' places to visit for an extraordinary meal, that's also refining how Indian food is perceived by the world.

Their six-course tasting menu is a delight for the tastebuds with signature dishes which are a unique marriage of global ingredients and techniques with the flavours and traditions of India. From chaat to their anar & churan kulfi sorbet (the palate cleanser) and even the black dairy dal, each bite will leave you wanting for more. Our only wish was for them to include their famous 'daulat ki chaat' in the tasting menu 'cause we can never get enough of it.

Price Per Person: INR 5,400 ++ for the vegetarian meal and INR 5,500++ for the non-vegetarian meal. Additional INR 5,400 per person for six half glasses (75ml) of wine.

Bukhara

The iconic restaurant home to the most delicious dal you can have — the famous Dal Bukhara also does these fixed menus one can try out if you want to have a hearty Bukhara meal. They have a vegetarian menu which includes eight offerings whereas the 'Fixed Menu A' and 'Fixed Menu B' have a mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian delicacies (eleven in total including the breads and raita). We love that you have the option of choosing the menu you like better and having the feast of your dreams.

A few common offering in the menus are Tandoori Phool (cauliflower), Paneer Tikka, tandoori Aloo, Mixed Raita, Dal Bukhara (the best dal you will have in your life, without a doubt) while the non-vegetarian ones are Tandoori Jhinga, Machli Tikka, Murgh Malai Kabab and Seekh Kabab with only the difference of Sikandari Raan being added in the 'Fixed Menu A' .

Dhilli

Dhilli is a comparatively new addition to Delhi's fine-dining scene. A progressive Indian restaurant mentored by Michelin-starred Chef Vineet Bhatia MBE, their dishes are a homage to the different cultures and flavours that have found their way to the capital (thus the name Dhilli), reinterpreted with a unique twist. Expect a mix of royal recipes from shahi kitchens, roadside chaats and wholesome generational family recipes.

Talking about their five-course tasting menu—well, it has all the requisites of a spectacular North Indian meal. A chaat, a fried nibble plate, another snackable offering followed by a tikka, your main and the dessert which is a kewda jalebi, paan kulfi and malai rabdi combo. Honestly, you die a little while gorging on this meal because it tastes so good and you wish it never ends!

TK's Oriental Grill

TK's is one of our favourite restaurants in the city. The teppanyaki food is simply delicious and the fun concept of sitting around the live cooking stations makes the experience even nicer. And well, their warm hospitality makes you want to return to the place every tenth day or so. Jumping to their teppanyaki set menus, there are four options — Umi (ten course non-vegetarian menu), Mori (ten course non-vegetarian menu), Dojo (nine-course vegetarian menu) and Yokoso (twelve course non-vegetarian menu).

Trust us when we say this, these set menus are the perfect way to sample all the goodness TK's has to offer and there's no way better around to navigate through their menu. Gyozas, suhsi rolls, meats or veggies in sauce, Thai curries and loads of fire (on the grill as well as the food) are common sightings so be assured that your meal is in capable hands.

Price Per Person: INR 5,895++ for the Umi and Mori menus, INR 4,560++ for the Dojo menu and INR 6,285 for the Yokoso menu

Le Cirque

Le Cirque in The Leela Palace is one of the most luxurious Italian restaurants in New Delhi. The menu is innovative, authentic and has something for everyone. The vibe of the restaurant is sophisticated and the exceptional wine offerings too make this a must-visit place for your special ocassions.

Inja

If you decide to visit just one place from this list, let it be Inja! Take our word, the food and overall experience is unlike anything you will witness in your life (no kidding). The unique Indian and Japanese fusion concept might raise your eyebrows for a good minute or so but once you dig into the dishes, you will be left feeling grateful this place exists. The level of creativity, attention to detail and uniqueness, win all the points from us!

Chef Adwait Anantwar, the man behind the magic here, has created a 'Hawker High' tasting menu that will delight your senses in addition to your palate. Everything is excellent, including the ingredients, preparation, presentation, and service—this tasting menu is a wonderful example of what a real fine-dining experience ought to be like! You will be left wanting more after tasting each of the eight dishes on this tasting menu. A few of the delights offered in this menu are the Hamachi 'Bombay Sandwich', which consists of Hamachi Sashimi, Wasabi Potato, Sweet Potato Chips, Ito-katso, and Sandwich chutney, as well as the Koji Chicken Wings, which are flavoured with tamarind and jaggery teriyaki and a touch of smoked Kashmiri chilli. The menu expertly combines the umami-rich precision of Japanese street gastronomy with the aromatic and lively chaos of Indian street food, a unique fusion you didn't know you had to try!
