Gurgaon, It’s Time To Head Over To The Clock Tower

Shortcut

The magnificent looking Clock Tower on Golf Course Road is now ticking with its own-brewed beers in its hallowed halls.

About Time

We couldn’t wait any longer for The Clock Tower to open. For months, we’ve been wondering what was brewing in this space on Golf Course Road of former Bawarchi fame.

We love that this brewery/restaurant is stand alone, we love that it looks from the outside that it could belong to Shimla or Stockholm, we love the upstairs-downstairs, indoor-outdoor and more upstairs space, and that it has a honestly beautiful garden out front with real grass and real flowers. We think the butterflies are real too.

Hours Of Drinks And Food

Step inside its heavily wooden interiors {with wood brought in specially from the mountains} and it looks like the traditional country home in the hills you’d expect, with leather seating and even more wood.

They brew their own beer – nowadays, who doesn’t? – and we liked their Pale Ale best. The menu is more or less what you’d find in the brewpubs of this era; a bit of this, a bit of that, burgers, pizza, Thai curry, schnitzel, stroganoff and chicken malai tikka. You’ll find something you like.

Wait A Minute, Anything Else?

They plan to have a regular calendar of performing bands on Fri and Sat nights, so stay tuned if you’re interested. During less noisy times, they’re happy to have families {children included} feel at home over a warm shared meal. There aren’t enough places where a bunch of little and big people can spend some time and all come away having had a pleasant afternoon.

No, it’s not chaotic with kids running around the place because there’s simply too much space for anyone to get in anyone’s way. But it does remind us of gastropubs abroad where everyone’s happy doing their own thing, together. Very European. But wait, did we say that already?
