United Way Bengaluru has been a registered charity in Karnataka since 2008, addressing pressing issues in Bengaluru. UWBe has partnered with the government, corporations, communities and volunteers to work towards ameliorating lives and the environment. The flagship campaign of United Way Bengaluru is currently reaching out to 16 lakes across the city. There have been a number of corporates who have joined UWBe’s Wake the Lake campaign, helping UWBe install 750 KLD, zero electricity sewage treatment plants at Kundanahalli Lake a 1 MLD zero electricity sewage treatment plant at Mahadevapura Lake. This was made possible through the participation of nearly 5000 community members and 4000 corporate volunteers who helped in tree plantation activities and lake cleaning drives over the past year, across 16 lakes.
