It was the relief of struggling to put together meals in the middle of a hectic week or lazy weekend that got our vote when we found Kaun Banega Chef. Their delicious looking menu further sealed the deal! No, this isn't your run-of-the-mill food delivery service, it's a recipe box service offering fresh ingredients, individually portioned up for cooking meals at home, delivered straight to your door.
Sure, ordering a meal may sound easier but for someone like me who enjoys cooking but doesn't have all the ingredients, or for somebody who is looking to get comfortable in the kitchen, Kaun Banega Chef is a saviour. The menu features traditional Muslim recipes and the Founders' family favourites, all of which can be whipped up in a matter 30 minutes. I ordered Begum's Butter Chicken for a weekend indulgence and thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the dish. Everything from the marinated chicken, to the gravy base, and coal (for the smoky flavour) and the rotis, came neatly packaged. The recipe pamphlet with clear instructions was much appreciated too!
To order, visit the KBC website. Here you will also spot Bombay College Ragada Pattice (definitely on my list for an evening snack), Hummus, Paneer Makhanwala, Tawa Mutton Chops and Murgh Hariyali Steak. These dishes however, are only available on certain days of the week. You will have to place an order a day prior, latest by 12 noon. This ensures the team sources all your ingredients and prepares them fresh. Delivery is charged extra based on the location.
