What Makes It Awesome

Channelling the vibes of New York - its diversity, love for coffee, veganism and pets, The Pet People Cafe is the perfect place to kick off your day with caffeine, a bagel with your beagle in tow! Or any doggo for that matter as the cafe in HSR Layout welcomes four-legged friends as much as they do two-legged ones. Located inside the Paws & Collars store, the cafe is the brainchild of Santhosh Pasupuleti and Ambika Ramachandran, both pet lovers who are passionate about making the space the ideal experience for pets and pet parents. They also use eco-friendly packaging and cutlery, so it’s a winning spot, any way you look.

The menu, curated by Masterchef Abhijit Saha, is also New York inspired, so expect a curated selection with coffees straight from Chikmagalur, roasted to perfection. They have an all-day breakfast section including smoothie bowls (under the section Times Square Smoothie Bowl, no less!) packed with superfoods such as avocado, hemp hearts, flaxseed, with cashew-oat mylk, among others.

Plus, international favourites like Brooklyn-style Beet Hummus with lavash and ragi crackers, eggless banana and blueberry pancakes served with maple syrup and plant-based butter. Then there’s the vegan-friendly bakery; Greenwich Village Bake House on the menu, which promises cranberry-cinnamon rolls, croissants and apricot custard Danish turnovers. Wash it all down with artisan kombucha, organic coffee and milk-free shakes.

For something more substantial, there are New York-style flat-bread, Big Apple burgers, a Little Italy section with paninis, pizzas and pasta, and a Queens Asian selection with dishes like Mee Goreng and Laksa. Desserts are as dramatic as the Theatre District with Tiramisu, cheesecakes, Upside Down Caramelised Apple Cake,  and vegan ice cream.

Pro-Tip

They’re going to have a vegan menu just for pets soon too!
