What Makes It Awesome
Adding to the list of vegetarian restaurants in the city is Amar Fast Food. Sounds familiar? That's because it's the same brand that is popular in Bombay. They have their outlet on GN Chetty Road and share the building with ABs.
This place is a must-visit for those who love pav bhaji. There's an entire list to choose from (starting INR 100) - think - cheese pav bhaji, masala pav bhaji, Amar pav bhaji (which is basically bhaji doused with butter and dry fruits), and paneer fry pav bhaji.
Are you the kind who orders South Indian food everywhere you go? You are sorted. They have a separate section with the usual dosa, pongal, idly, vada. However, we recommend their Tava Idly (INR 85) which has an Indo-Chinese flavour to it. Also, try their crispy, crunchy and hot Sabudana Wada (INR 65), that comes with curd.
Their exhaustive menu has Chinese options, too. Looks like Chennai needs their Chinese fix everywhere they go. But if all this doesn't fill you up, go through their list of sabjis and roti tokri. We ordered good old Paneer Butter Masala and were not disappointed. The soft paneer gets a thumbs up from us. Want a drink? Try their thick, creamy lassi or if you don't want anything heavy, opt for their Masala Butter Milk. Amar Fast Food has a little bit of everything and definitely fixed our chat craving!
They have valet parking so visit this restaurant stress-free. The starters can fill you up so keep that in mind while ordering.
