The OMR Food Street located in Navalur has over a whopping 58 food stalls ranging from established joints like Ajanabi (for chaats and rasmalai) and Meat & Eat (for a bucket of fried chicken) to smaller OMR exclusive outlets like Mast Banarasi Paan (where you get paan that’s on fire!).

For dessert, there are sugarcane popsicles at Kodai Panam to liquid nitrogen ice-creams at Frozen Lips. Whether you’re an experimental foodie or just craving some local delicacies, OMR Food Street has it all! From namma Chennai flavours to Hyderabadi, Malabari, Bengali, North Indian, Malaysian, Mexican and Arabian cuisines (phew), you can be sure to find it all at this food street. It’s situated close to Sathyabama University and you’ll find a massive number of restaurants in this open-air complex. Step in and be amazed by the sheer amount of food on offer. 

Adukalai

Designed to look like an old Karaikudi bungalow, this Chettinad restaurant offers regional specials like Mutton Chukka, Chicken Pepper Roast, Prawn Biryani, Pudina Chicken Roast and the Raja Virundhu, a massive meal (fit for a king). It is famous for its Nattu Kozhi Biryani {country-bred chicken biryani} and home-made Pot Kulfi.

Golconda

Golconda is sure to be every biryani lover’s paradise! Their Hyderabadi Biryani is a must try, which is quite authentic in flavour and taste.
