What Makes It Awesome

Located in Alwarpet's upscale and residential Venus Colony, Amelie’s Creamery is housed in a charming bungalow that offers lots of parking space and even valet service. It is particularly lovely by night — its illuminated trees and twinkling lights lending the place a rather whimsical, fairy-tale-like atmosphere. The pastel walls and vintage accents give the place a Parisian charm that would work wonders for your first date. Even if not for a date, the pretty setting adds to the whole dining experience there.

The moment you walk in, you're treated with the highlight of the place - its dessert counter. Amelie’s truly surpasses itself with its impressive array of fine cakes and desserts plated with the perfection of the Michelin-star chefs we keep hearing about on our favourite cooking shows. Their goat cheese and strawberry popsicle will cause an explosion of flavour on your tongue. The sensation of the saffron baked yoghurt with pistachio crumbles melting in your mouth is also worth experiencing.

The tiny but incredible dessert, Textures of Dark Chocolate with olive oil and sea salt Anglaise, is also out of this world. But if not for anything, do give the ice creams at Amelie's a shot. Light on your tongue and perfectly sweet, these are simply too good. We loved their raspberry ice cream!  But if you're in the mood to experiment, try the chilly popcorn flavoured ice cream here. The thrill and disbelief that follow the coolness on the tongue when the spicy aftertaste of authentic popcorn hits your palette is something worth experiencing!

But that's just the dessert. While it does make for a fitting meal in itself if you can handle that sugar rush, you can also gorge on some good comfort food at Amelie's. The portions may not be very large though. Choose from all-day breakfasts, delicious baos, flatbreads, and interesting appetisers, salads and pastas. We particularly enjoyed the unique flavour of the cottage cheese sticks stuffed with capers and gherkins. If you’re only there for a quick revitalising drink, you won’t be disappointed. The mocktails range from a refreshing cucumber-apple green mojito to the curious-sounding jalapeno lemonade.
