What Makes It Awesome

Aishwariya Karthik already won us over with Anicha, an online jewellery brand offering a mix of traditional and modern jewellery designs that are both unique and niche. And now, she has us drooling again with her dress label Athira, another online brand offering a wonderful mix of contemporary and Indie dresses, maxis and fitted gowns.

Aishwariya personally sources all her fabrics, conceptualises them and then gets them designed at her unit in Jaipur. The whole Jaipur influence is quite intense and this can be seen in the extensive range of cotton and hand block prints dresses that Athira offers. We love their Bagru hand block printed dress and their Jahota Kalamkari dress with contrast borders. You can also find paisley prints, Indian motifs, Ikkat patterns, bandhani dresses and a lot of floral designs in their collection. The easy-breezy silhouettes and the flow of the gowns make them perfect for casual outings, date nights and even workwear.

The colour palette ranges from bright and vivid red, yellow and green to soothing pastels like mint green, powder yellow, blush pink and more. Their pastel yellow gown with foil print hand block design looks like a dream! You can even find a lot of angrakha patterns, midi-dresses in ikkats and kalamkari patterns and light festive wear which is a mix of raw silk, organza and tissue.

Athira also has some georgette gowns with flutter sleeves and floral patterns that we're totally digging. They do customisations based on size, so you can rest assured that you will get the perfect fit. You can either shop from their available designs or get outfits made from scratch with Aishwariya's help. Prices start from INR 2000.

Pro-Tip

You can personally check out their collection at Tamara in Chennai. Athira also has jumpsuits in hand block prints and some muslin and rayon slub dresses on offer. They also ship pan-India.
