#SummerSpecial: We Found The Most Amazing Special Lassi In Town & You Have To Try It

We stopped by Bombay Lassi, a legendary little shop that serves the most “special” lassi, tucked away in a tiny lane, behind Devi Theatre. And that’s not all we tried.

Summer is coming and with it comes Chennai’s blistering unmerciful heat. What better way to cool off than with a nice cold glass of lassi. And for just INR 30? Double yes! So, Bombay Lassi has been around for over 40 years and it’s quite hidden from the public eye, off Ellis Road, but that doesn’t stop the herd of hungry Chennaites eagerly waiting to dig into their special snacks and lassi of course. You get a regular glass of lassi for INR 30 but we were intrigued by the special lassi  for INR 50. What’s special, we ask? Apparently they add basundi  to the mix, dusting it off with sugar, and omg it tastes just out of this world. Not too sweet,  not too rich – just absolutely perfect. And it’s nice and cold. So perfect for summer. Or any weather really. Guys, you must try!

Apart from their amazing lassi, you must tuck in to their fresh, crunchy samosas. So, so good. You even get spicy coriander chutney to dunk your aloo samosas in. Get one for just INR 12! And their sweet, squiggly jalebis are heavenly, also for INR 12 per piece. They also offer halwa, kachodi, gulab jamun to name a few on their small menu. There’s no place to sit, and the place is a bit difficult to find but for the prices and taste, we’d come back again and again. Absolutely worth it!
