Bread & Chocolate cafe in Auroville (co-owned by the same folks as Mason & Co chocolates) is an adorable vegetarian and vegan cafe space that offers everything from smoothies, cakes, bakes, healthy breakfast bowls, and, of course, lots of freshly baked breads and chocolate.
The cafe is charming with lots of brick and glass accents, wooden furniture and bright lighting. There is a dessert bay where you can gawk at the day’s sweet treats. The menu offers a bunch of baked goodies, but what we love are their vegan options such as their vegan affogato made with coconut ice cream, Mason & co chocolate and organic sugar to be plonked into coffee sourced from Black Baza Coffee and their vegan cakes like the orange and olive oil one or their big, filling vegan lunch bowls. Yum! You can also pick from their vegan ice creams with toppings of your choice like vegan caramel banana sauce, cacao nibs, fresh fruits and more.
Bread & Chocolate also stocks regular quiches, pies and croissants. And don’t even get us started about their breads. Sold as full or quarter, expect airy sourdoughs, flaky croissants, and hunky Foccacia that go into making the cafe's sandwiches. Wait, there’s more. You can also take away their packets of chocolate granola, Mason & Co chocolates and even some crunchy microgreens and other veggies, grown by hydroponics. Open from Tuesday to Sunday, you can head to Bread & Chocolate between 8 am and 5 pm.
