Contemporary lights, flamingo-printed wallpapers and jewel-toned velvety chairs - Canvas By Sketch in Alwarpet is the perfect mishmash of tropical meets modern-vintage as far as the decor is concerned. Located on TTK Road, the aesthetic appeal of this eatery is not just limited to the ambience but also extends to the food.
Their menu is extensive and offers a little something for everyone. Asian specialities, comforting Italian food, biryani and other Indian delicacies, burgers, salads, short-eats and more - they offer a curated selection of dishes across all these cuisines. Canvas By Sketch even has a designated vegan section on their menu that comprises mains, appetisers and dessert and a long list of all-day breakfast options. Their service is worth a special mention too.
Do yourself a favour and order their Burrata & antioxidant salad. Plated beautifully with a glorious burrata ball, pesto drizzle, olives, healthy seeds, leafy greens and a passion fruit vinaigrette, the sight of oozing cream will have you drooling. They've definitely nailed this one! For appetisers, we got their Edamame dim sums. Served with a flavourful roasted tomato and ginger dip, we wiped them clean in no time. Next came Fish & chips and Khao Suey. The presentation and the flavours for both were simple, clean and satisfying. We would have liked our Khao Suey curry to be a little runny, however.
For dessert, Canvas By Sketch has sorbets, cheesecake, torte and Tiramisu on offer. We recommend you try their Wild Berry Madeline (it's gluten-free) and chocolate mousse cake that are both a treat to the eye and the tongue. They've got a lot of options in coffee, cold-pressed juices, soups and tea as well, so you can be as choosy as you like.
