How To Get Published As A Freelancer
The title is the topic of discussion at CPB’s panel discussion event this Thursday, April 19. The two hour event will bring together four established photographers from different backgrounds, to talk about their take on the topic. Amirtharaj Stephen is a self-taught documentary photojournalist and a winner of multiple international photography awards and is one of the four panelists. Kimberly Low, a documentary food and lifestyle photographer from Sydney, who had her first magazine story published when she was 18, will share her story as well. Jyothy Karat, a visual journalist/documentary filmmaker who shoots for Lonely Planet will also be in attendance, along with the Visual Editor at The Hindu, Dinesh Krishnan. A wealth of knowledge, all there to talk about how their stories and how you can get your work published.

Studio Lighting
An Introduction to Studio Lighting is a workshop by Kunal Daswani. For those of you not in the know, Kunal Daswani is one of Chennai’s most sought after photographers. He’s worked with movie stars, sports icons, and big names like The Hindu, Royal Enfield, Verve and GQ. He’s most notably known for his food photography which he’s done for restaurants at hotels like The Park, Hyatt, ITC and GRT. The two-day workshop will go over the basics of studio lighting, portraiture, food and product photography and even post processing on Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. Prices start at INR 10,000, yes it’s pricey but here’s the best part, there’s a scholarship in it for two students interested in attending the event! All you have to do is write to them and tell them why you deserve it!
