Bengaluru-born co-working space provider CoWrks in OMR (after Mt. Poonamalle High Road), will feel like you are never going to feel like leaving once you enter their massive space.

Branded as a large format co-working space, the OMR branch of CoWrks occupies a mean 66,000 sq ft of space. Co-working spaces in Chennai have been popping up dime a dozen recently, but CoWrks chooses to separate itself from the rest by putting in a little extra effort and space. At max capacity, the OMR branch can house 900 people and can do so with adequate rooms!

Common areas like walkways and lounges are brightly lit and spacious. Their work rooms are split into offices of various sizes (six-seater, eight-seater, 10-seater and so on) and they all have glass windows, which make them feel a lot less claustrophobic, given that they only seat a handful of people. There are also meeting rooms in different configurations you can rent out, suited for brainstorming sessions, board meetings and more. The meeting rooms are not only configured differently but each comes with its own colour palette and artistic style.

The space is fully air-conditioned, open 24/7, with 200mbps internet (and a back up), and full-time security. They’ve got two separate cafeterias called fuel bars, stocked with munchies and coffee machines flown in from Italy, along with round the clock housekeeping. The walls in the common areas are painted with murals, cute motivational posters can be found across the office and they’re getting a foosball table soon too. We liked the way they have made use of common areas to foster interaction between office users. Some walkways even have cutouts and cubby holes in the form of diners and telephone booths where you can catch up over coffee or take a private call.

We like CoWrks’ attention to detail and the tiny ways they try to add value. For instance, the CoWrks app connects CoWrks members together like a social networking site, so if you’re searching for work in a certain field they’ll help connect you. Additionally, their app provides a lot of other benefits based on the clients that work out of their space. They also have tie-ups with restaurants, services, and businesses in the city and offers attractive discounts to its members (currently a 20 per cent discount at Mamagoto!). They hold periodical events for their employees and workers where they invite entertainers, speakers, and performers.
