Garba and dandiya are a huge part of Navaratri, and if you’re the kind who likes dressing up amnd shaking a leg all night, then we’ve got you covered. Here are five lit dandiya night parties that you should be at, this year.
#FestiveEdit: Shake A Leg At These Dandiya Nights
Gujarati Youth Association
The celebrations being held at Dharmaprakash Hall in Purusaiwalkam will include garba and dandiya parties every night at 10pm until October 18. The entry fee is INR 600 for members of Gujarati Youth Association and INR 800 for non-members. Expect some yum Gujju food (yay!). There are various garba competitions going on too, so if you’re not the shy type, show off your moves!
SPR Highliving
Dance away for nine days with a 21 member orchestra troupe that will be belting out some amazing fun, dance-music at SPR Highliving in Perambur. Hosted by the GujRaj Cultural Committee, there are prizes worth up to 20 lakhs and a midnight food court, too! The dandiya nights start from 9pm and go on until October 19.
Mint Street
On October 17, celebrate Navaratri with Gujaratis of George Town, where you will assemble at 8.30pm and tour and explore Mint Street and Gujju heritage. This trip, hosted by Chennai Past Forward, will end with a super fun dandiya event. What makes it better? The live music by an experienced orchestra.
