Craving for a chicken biryani but you're pockets are close to going empty? We know, we find ourselves in that situation a lot of times. But Gate Of Madras restaurant at the Parsn Complex in Nungambakkam has come to our rescue. This compact place is neat, quirky and offers some of the best foods we've tasted. And at the end, the bill won't burn a hole in your pocket! We call that, a win-win!
Located right next to the Madras Curry Cup, Gate Of Madras welcomes you to an open-brick decor with tables that can accommodate 10 to 12 people anytime! Don't let the tiny set-up fool you, their menu is big and soul-satisfying. For starters, try the single Chicken Tangri which is just INR 80! If you're heading there with your squad, order the Punjabi Wings Chicken or the Mushroom Chili Manjurian (We know, they call it Manjurian instead of Manchurian). They also have the cheesy french fries and Chicken Popcorn.
But if you just want to head straight to business like us, flip the menu and check out the many options of rice, noodles and biryanis. The signature dish at this restaurant is the Chicken 65 briyani, which is priced at INR 170 and is a fast seller during lunch and dinner. They also make a killer Spicy Chicken Mexican Rice and the Veg Hong Kong Rice/Noodles are just too good. Accompany your main course with Chicken Manjurian (again) gravy or the evergreen, Paneer Butter Masala. Gate Of Madras also undertakes orders for Bucket Briyani, which is perfect for family functions and parties, as it serves more than 20 people.
If you're still looking for something different and don't wish to order from the à la carte menu, simply choose one of the eight pre-set combos, all of which come with one type of rice/noodles, a side-dish and a juice. After you're done with your meal, we recommend you try the Vanilla Milkshake or the Virgin Mojito! Gate Of Madras is open from 11.30 AM to 11.30 PM.
