What's Happening

Asian cultures are interlinked and have a lot of common connections. Japanese designer Ryoko Haraguchi's proves the statement right with her latest collection of dye works on elegant Indian fabric that she is showcasing at Amethyst. As part of her brand, Sind, she is showing the unique common heritage of the handwork, and the skills common in the textile cultures of India and Japan. She has worked with craftsmen from Jaipur and Delhi for her contemporary garments, collages, and stoles.

Japanese techniques, such as persimmon tannin overdye, and Itajime dyeing process, in harmony with Indian dyeing and stitch work, is featured in this exhibition.
