Bowled Over: Tuck Into Delhi Ishtyle Or Burrito Bowls At This Food Festival

Kapao Dos, one of our favourite cafes in Egmore, is hosting a multi-cuisine food festival called The Tasty Bowl, in the first week of July. So that means plenty of Khao Suey Bowls (with coconut milk and herb broth with flat noodles, toasted peanuts and garlic chips) and Indonesian Sambal Oelek Bowl (steamed rice, crackers, salad with prawn flavoured with kaffir lime leaves, fresh red chilli and galangal), brimming with Asian flavours. Want to try something different? They have Mediterranean (chicken with hummus and , tzatziki and pita chips), Mexican (grilled chicken or bean stew, served with cilantro rice, corn salsa, sour cream and nachos)and good old Delhi flavours (mutton or spring vegetables cooked in a rich onion gravy served with rice, papad and kachumber ) on board as well. Sounds simply yum, no?

Anyone who’s a foodie, really. The meals are wholesome and the best part is you can try bowls from different cuisines; they have one for every kind of foodie. Each bowl is filling and costs INR 250 upwards, and we like there’s a veggie and non-vegetarian version for every dish.

Because it’s on only for a week, we think you should dig in ASAP. We know the peeps at Kapao Dos make some lip-smackingly good dishes, so we aren’t doubting how tasty these would be. And honestly how many places serve bowls of food as exciting as this?

Oh, and while you’re there you can always pack home some delicious Old-Monk infused cake or even try their insane 24-layered cake at Crumb Patisserie, their dessert section.  You’re welcome.
