Just when you’re looking for new music and something different to do with your evenings, the Mainstage Festival comes along to celebrate the best of live music! And it’s happening at Bay 146.

In Tune

Bay 146 at Savera Hotel has become the leading venue for gigs in the city. With shows happening every Friday night, featuring bands that Chennai adores{both homegrown and from other cities}, Bay 146 is the place to be. Of course, if you don’t know about their musical reputation or their Mainstage Festival, let us help you out from under that rock.

The Mainstage Festival is a music festival that Bay 146 hosts featuring artists from Chennai and around the country twice a week — every Wednesday and Friday during the month of September. From rock to pop to funk and jazz and even the blues, you can find it all at Bay 146. It’s the best place to be for a proper musical experience, because you can be assured that you’ll have a good time.

Come Alive

Currently in their fifth season, the Mainstage Festival is a month-long celebration of great music. The festival is already under way and there are just three great nights left for you to attend. So far, they’ve had the likes of Chennai’s very own Alternative Rock band, Junkyard Groove, The Non Violinist Project {Experimental/World Music, also from Chennai} and most recently, Pop Rock band, When Chai Met Toast from Cochin.

While you might have missed out on some great performances, you’ve still got the chance to catch the final three. This Friday {September 22}, Bangalore-based Acoustic artist Dhruv Vishvanath takes the stage with Alvin Presley as the supporting act. Then on Wednesday {September 27}, Chennai-based Matt Bacon {Acoustic Rock}  takes the stage to perform his unique brand of music. And finally, next Friday {29 September}, another Chennai-based band closes the Mainstage Festival – one of the city’s favourite Funk Rock bands, Franks Got The Funk!

There’s a cover charge of INR 750 {which is fully redeemable} for each show, so stop procrastinating and start gathering your squad for the upcoming rounds of great music!
