This café in RA Puram is a small space that packs a big punch with its food. Mezze, with its bright blue walls and eclectic decor serves authentic Mediterranean food in signature ‘small plates’ so that you can both share your food and try more of their dishes off the menu! They serve Mediterranean favourites like Hummus in a variety of flavours (like Beetroot), creamy Tzatziki, Baba Ghanoush, Falafel, Shawarma and Pita pockets, apart from pizza, salads and some killer baklava. Mezze serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food.
Mezze was started because the Mediterranean food options in the city were few, and also expensive. A meal for two at Mezze, on the other hand, will only set you back by INR 600. Among the things that make Mezze Madras unique is the fact that it has only a few two-seater and four-seater tables. Instead, it has a long ‘community’ table that seats about ten people comfortably. The idea behind the community table, says Anush Rajasekaran (the man behind Mezze Madras), is so that people can come together, meet new people and have great conversations.
So do give this cafe a try. And who knows, you might leave with more than a stomach of delicious food.
