Misty Mountain is an Airbnb cottage in Kodaikanal channeling countryside feels and the perfect escape from bustling city life and the blistering summer.

What Makes It Awesome

Ever looked at pictures on Airbnb and found that they don’t do justice to the actual place. Well that’s what happened here. Tucked away from the city centre, Misty Mountain came as a pleasant surprise. The quaint cottage is picturesque for its Brit-style decor and wins applause for its gorgeous view of the valley!

Present among other quaint cottages in the same vicinity, this Airbnb is a two-bedroom vintage cottage with king size beds, a cosy fireplace and a backyard full of blooming flora. We loved how the cottage got us nostalgic with old DVDs, cassettes and unique artefacts that make up the place. And if you’re looking to unwind with a glass of wine and let your hair down, their large bathtub is the perfect place to relax. Also, all the rooms are equipped with heaters to keep you warm and the kitchen has all the basic essentials, in case you want to cook a dish or two. Although, the Airbnb is located inside a gated community of sorts, so guests have access to the restaurant that offers South Indian and North Indian delicacies through the day too.

Both the rooms open up to the view of the hills and floating clouds. A walk around the cottage also leads to many pretty corners to sit down and sip chai, overlooking the Kodaikanal lake and pine forests. While you’re there, don’t forget to take a stroll around the cottages near by, especially if you’re a nature enthusiast. Every frame is picture-perfect! The view from the verandah is even better at night, with the sky brimming with stars. So if you’re wondering where to head with the squad or even do a romantic getaway, this cottage is pretty much the real deal. Price: INR 4,500 plus taxes for 4 people For more info, click here.
