What Makes It Awesome

Set in the gully side of Choolaimedu, is this tiny Tibetan restaurant, Kailash Kitchen that serves some of the yummiest momos in town. They have branch a branch in Besant Nagar as well. Dearly known as Momo Sa-Khang by Kailash Kitchen, the restaurant in Choolaimedu is a small cosy place with walls made out of bamboo. It has simple chair and tables for seating with wall fans and colourful Buddhist flags hung from the wall. However dingy the place may be, it is the food that tells all the tales.

Kailash Kitchen has been serving lip-smacking Tibetan food since 2008 before the current Asian Kitchens made way. And it is very popular among millennials too. This small space can host only up to 12 people at a time. But do note that there is never a day this eatery doesn’t have a long queue of hungry visitors. Packed through the week, you can get yourself food on the go if you don’t want to wait in line, delivered through their kitchen windows.

Their menu features all different possible momos including veggie momo, spinach and corn momo and chicne momos. They have beef momos as well. You can get their fried chicken momos for just INR 95 and fried veggie momo for INR 85. And it’s not just about the momos. Don’t miss the fiery chutney that goes with it. Try the Thukpa (soft noodles in a broth) and Mokthuk (noodles and momos in a broth with veggies and meat) for some authentic Tibetan flavours. If you are a vegetarian, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. There’s also Dhangthuk for lovers of spicy noodles tossed in strongly flavoured sesame oil. Our mouths are watering just thinking about it.
