Together with the Sri Talapagiri Ranganatha Swamy Temple, this temple is very well-known in Nellore. The Buchireddipalem Mandal encompasses the Mallikarjuna Swamy Kamakshi Tai Temple. The temple which is devoted to Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy and Goddess Kamakshi holds a ten-day festival every year. The quality of construction used to build the temple is noteworthy this is especially true of the sections made of individual stones.

Talpagiri Ranganathaswamy Temple

Located about 5 km from the bus stop in Nellore the Sri Talpagiri Ranganathaswamy Temple is a historically significant site that dates back 600 years. The temple which is next to the Pennar River is notable for its 29-meter-tall Galigopuram which is adorned with seven golden Kalasams. The shrine's magnificent representation of Lord Vishnu lounging atop the serpent Adisesha will leave you mesmerised. Furthermore, there are a number of smaller shrines within the temple complex that honour several other Hindu deities including Hanuman, Garuda, Gopalakrishna, Narasimha and Srinivasa.

Renowned for drawing migratory birds from all over India, Nelapattu Bird Sanctuary is a prominent tourist attraction in Nellore. The sanctuary attracts over 1500 pelicans that visit during the migratory season. This area is home to a variety of uncommon bird species including egrets night herons, spoonbills, pelicans, ducks and more. There are excellent opportunities for birdwatching from watch towers that are strategically placed throughout the sanctuary for visitors to enjoy. To further improve the overall experience of visitors the sanctuary also has facilities like a museum library and amphitheater.

Penchalakona Temple

Penchalakona is a sacred temple about eighty kilometres from Nellore City. It is located close to Nellore in the foothills of Veligondalu. In the tenth century, the temple experienced extensive restorations. Narasimha Jayanthi which falls in May is one of the most significant holidays celebrated here. In Penchalkona, saturdays are regarded as especially auspicious attracting a lot of pilgrims who conduct pujas in the temple. Along with the temple, the area is home to a lovely dry-land trail where guests can take in the scenery and local culture in peace and quiet.

Udayagiri Fort

The best view in the area can be found at Udayagiri Fort which is situated atop Sanjeevi Hills and is about 100 km away from Nellore. Standing at almost 3097 feet above sea level it has a rich history that dates back to the fourteenth century. It was created by Kalinga region's warrior and king Langula Gajapati and in 1512 it fell under the control of Vijayanagaras famous Krishna Devaraya. Numerous dynasties including the Pallavas, Vijayanagaras and Cholas have ruled the fort over the ages. The fort is home to 13 buildings and multiple temples serving as a reminder of the architecture and culture of bygone times.
