I for one am guilty of having ogled over them the whole of the lockdown season because there was really nothing better to do (and I love food!). So imagine my delight when I discovered that there's a place that delivers beautifully curated (I am not exaggerating) food platters in Chennai. Peeps, Platter Mi Amor is your shortcut to being the best host, tastefully serving fancy food on a fancy platter (or whatever you choose to present your food on).
Naashitha Nasser, a full-time architect/passionate cook is the soul behind this venture that's pretty new to the city. Into Arabic food and feeding people and also having knowledge about curation and plating put Naashitha in a good spot to start this, and I am so glad she did! Because now, I can enjoy a cheese platter with my friends any time I want. With four different types of artisanal cheese, hummus, dried fruits, freshly cut veggies, herbs, fruits, and chips - all packed neatly in a flower-adorned box, their cheese platter was simply indulgent.
All I had to do was her call up (a day's notice works best) and pick from her menu which also includes a mezze platter, a dessert platter, a charcuterie board (has smoked meat), a high tea platter, and more. That's not it. Platter Mi Amor is also into hosting grazing tables (more food) which are perfect for when you're hosting a proper gathering of people. But if it's a date with just a few friends, you can go for their set platters that are available in two sizes (8 inches and 16 inches). The 8-inch one is enough to feed four hungry stomachs, I feel, that too if we're pouring out drinks. Prices start from about INR 2000.
