Queen Of Saris

What's Happening

Head to The Folly at Amethyst to check out the most exquisite drapes and weaves at an expo called Queen Of Saris by Kankatala. They will be showcasing saris which are inspired by the diverse cultures in India and took over six months to create (OMG, right?). From May 3-5 (10am to 8:30pm), this expo will have handwoven or handloom sarees with pure zari work in a diverse set of weaves and fabrics. You can see Kanchipuram silk with contrasting Korvai borders and motifs, the Mughal-influenced Banarasi silk made with complicated techniques like the kadwa, the Paithani or ‘Queen of Silks’ with tissue borders and pallus, and the Patan Patola double ikat of northern Gujarat. The expo will also have a selection of linens, organzas, tussars, gadwals, and uppadas. The apparel is priced from INR 3,000.
