Luxury hotel, The Park, on Mount Road is hosting a food walk through the ins and outs of Triplicane to show you some of the best food spots the city has to offer, this Ramadan season. The approximately two-hour walk starts off at The Park and takes you to a mosque nearby where people of all religions come together when the fast is broken.
Apart from being a true symbol of unity worth seeing, you’re brought there first to try the amazing nombu kanji made during this month. Think porridge but savoury and with fresh spices. After which there’s falafel and kebabs to be had at a tiny café nearby called Firdaus Cafe, followed by haleem from a shop that serves only haleem, hello Pista House! The main course is traditional biryani at Charminar Biryani on Mount Road, followed by two more stops that we’d like to keep secret. Hint: it’s sweet!
