What Makes It Awesome

If you are planning a getaway, we think you should try something new this time. A simple, eco-friendly lifestyle that offers a vibrant community vibe and lets you give back to the environment. We’re talking about Sadhana Forest, a non-profit focused on introducing people to sustainable living and involving them in their efforts to rebuild the Tropical Dry Evergreen Forest.

With a minimum of two nights stay being a requirement, you can come here with your family, friends or even as a solo traveller and stay there for free. Yes, they do not charge for accommodation at Sadhana Forest. The food, however, comes to INR 500 per day, per person and is all vegan and made with organic, locally sourced ingredients.

Hosting guests from across the globe, Sadhana Forest offers an inclusive and warm atmosphere, helping people work in harmony with nature. How you may ask? By helping you experience solar energy usage, veganism and involving you in simple activities such as planting trees, mulching and watering them. Guests also engage in seva (selfless service) which includes cooking meals, cleaning after meals and maintaining solar panels. Sadhana Forest also uses biodegradable toiletries, compost toilets and promotes purchasing of local, organic foods.

Amenities there also include a small swimming pool, internet, a small library, bicycles for getting around, and a playground for children. There are also daily workshops offered that are run by community members and vary each week. And if you wish to seriously get involved, you can choose to stay there and participate in their projects for a few months or more. Let’s get inspired and together make the world a better place, we say!
