Samsara -The Recycle Company is a design and manufacturing house based in Chennai that gives an aesthetic as well as a functional makeover to what we would consider as waste otherwise. The world is becoming, well, at least trying to become a greener place. The least that we, as consumers, could do is to support brands like Samsara. Started by Pradyumna Rao and Mridhula Chandramohan, an architect duo, this brand is what you must check out if you are looking forward to adding a few designer cum sustainable furniture to your home.
Samsara- The Recycle Company sources discarded plastic from kabadiwallas and other dealers and transforms them into furniture like sofa sets, stools, traditional folding chairs, lounge chairs, square beams, wall tiles and more. What we love about Samsara is how colourful and quirky they make their end-products look. They come in hues of bright red, magenta, sky blue and more. Our favourite is the traditional folding chair in lemon yellow and bottle green. Their Nicobar Lounge Chair, that comes in different colours also caught our eye and is priced at INR 16000. Their side tables start from INR 6000.
Not just furniture, Samsara also makes other objects like coasters, light stands, key chains, mousepads, tabletop decor, pots for plants and more. Amongst these, the coasters in red colour were our favourite and they are priced at INR 350 for a set of four.
