A popular Mumbai food kiosk has made its way to Chennai and we are beyond excited. Because Swad – The Fusion Kitchen is a chaat stall which is pushing the envelope when it comes to the humble chaat. And no, we’re not talking just adding in a quirky ingredient or two. They go all out when it comes to changing things up.
The Chennai outlet in Vepery serves up everything from that blow torched paninis and cheese sauce filled pani puris with herbs. The other specialty is the crunchy Junglee Bhel which is their take on bhel puri that comes with pomegranates and dhokla! They also do nachos but with a cheese masala gravy that’s a favourite for large groups as they’re easy to share. There’s even a Sev Panini which has sev instead of a panini, and is topped with cheese and mayo. Their menu isn’t too large as it’s predominantly chaat based but their novelties are what make them stand out and we can’t wait to try out all of their interesting offerings. And at an easy INR 200 for two, we can see ourselves going here often… very often.
