The inspiration for this idea came from a dance teacher in Boston who was keen for her students to savour the dance buzz of the Margazhi season in Chennai. We thought more deliberately about it and we decided to curate an experience of the Margazhi season of music and dance for a small group of people who are keen and curious about the Margazhi but haven’t ever savoured it for a host of reasons, says Akhila. The Margazhi season in Chennai really has a feel and flavour of its own; people who love the Indian classical arts from across the world travel to Chennai to partake of this experience. 

The tour will be specially curated and will be accessible for all kinds of people. Aalaap and its team will guide people along and let them soak in these experiences that could range from concerts, academic seasons, intimate chamber concerts, specially crafted food experiences, et al.
