What Makes It Awesome

The Purple Turtles in Royapettah has our heart stolen with its quirky yet regal lighting and decor. The Bangalore based-store makes you want to move in there. It’s pricey, yes, but oh-so-stunning! It houses everything from floor lamps to table ones and ceiling lamps along with distressed furniture and antique décor, and now you can shop it all from their new store inside Amethyst.

As stated earlier, The Purple Turtles is pricey, but you can easily find many collectables to adorn your house with at under INR 5000. They have adorable wooden birds perched on wall hangings that make for lovely home décor at about INR 1500.  Bored with your typical fairy lights? We found a few classic silvery rice lights that you can string around a palm plant or table lanterns to spruce up your space. You can get them as round spheres or even gold, flattened spheres for about INR 1500.

There are a couple of good options here if you are into candles and tea lights. Place them in a selection of pretty candle holders provided by The Purple Turtles. We particularly liked their brass candle holder and 3D golden lanterns! If you are looking for something funkier, then their young and contemporary doodle lanterns are for you. One even is reminiscent of a Dr Seuss book with quirky illustrations and wacky poetry at about INR 1800. You can even get their cute, wooden seater steel chairs that can add so much spunk to your room or patio. We love the colours and the design, although the price is steep (almost INR 5k per piece).

If you want love antique, check out their lovely old-school tiffin carriers and worn out brass tumblers. They make for lovely statement decor pieces and start from about INR 2200. Our only advice to you is to drop by at night when the store is twinkling in the dark!
