Conducted by Music Director RN Vasanth, aspiring singers can be part of a workshop, but this one is slightly different! Conducted in a real-time studio, this won’t be a mere selection committee but it would be an overview of the singing techniques of the singer with focus on vocal strength, modulation, range, pitch and rhythm. Sounds exciting right? The Balu Mahendra Film Society (BMFS), founded after the legendary director, was started to gain knowledge about films and study filmmaking from other legends. The Madras Film Screening Club and Cinema Rendezvous, both based in Chennai, are two other similar initiatives. After the film’s screening, there will be an interactive session and discussion. What’s better? The MFSC even conducts movie marathon nights every month! You can get in touch with any of the three clubs on Facebook about memberships. My favourite? Cinema Rendezvous for sure.
