A street photography class with a history lesson tacked on, in a sense is what this photo walk is. But the problem with calling it that, is that it doesn’t do justice to the range of topics that the walk will cover. Organised by award winning travel photographer and the founder of Madras Photo Bloggers, Srivatsan Sankaran and his team will take you through the ins and outs of Triplicane while teaching you about its rich traditional culture and how to capture it. The walk itself ends with a group discussion where questions about the walk, Triplicane and photography in general will be answered.

What Is It?
Who Is It For?
While seemingly aimed at photographers {yes DSLR owners, we know you’re excited, the last event two months ago was packed!}, the walk is open to people who want to get to know a little more about Triplicane’s history {phone cameras are welcome too}. Perfect for the veteran Chennaiite who’s just never been to Triplicane and for the newcomer who wants to know more about our heritage. Oh and you’ve got be an early riser to attend this one.
Why Should I Go For It?
Think of it as a history lesson that comes alive. Every row of buildings has a story, from the unique architecture to the narrow yet seemingly always spacious roads, the experience of walking through them and knowing why they were made to be so, is special.
Not to mention the beautiful Parthasarathy temple and its pond are especially picturesque during the morning hours. Great for that Insta profile reboot you’ve been planning. Additionally getting tips from an award winning photographer on how to shoot better photos doesn’t hurt. To give you a sense of how popular this event is, the last one held in Koyambedu two months ago was expected to have a handful of people turn up. 40 plus turned up and much more are expected for this event.
