The Vault Bar Stock Exchange In T.Nagar is one of Chennai’s most popular places to party for the city’s younger crowd, thanks to its free entry and attractive space. The concept behind the space is that the prices of its drinks fluctuate based on demand, so the draw is that if you’re lucky, you can find a super cheap deal. So the cheaper the drink you want to go for, the less popular it needs to be with the crowd.
As much is the drink supply the star of the show, we certainly liked the huge space and the large crowds even better. The Vault is in a basement which has ample room to walk around even when crowded. There’s a dedicated dance floor, with a staging area, a long bar counter, seating in the form of wooden bar stools and couches along the walls and tiny booths for quieter occasions.
The food menu features the usual bar fare along with a small selection of continental, Chinese and Indian dishes in their main course section. We especially recommend the Banana Leaf Wrapped Fish that’s marinated in coconut milk and their signature Vault Burger, that’s available in vegetarian, chicken and beef (if you are non-vegetarian, then beef is a must-try!) The alcohol menu consists of the usual lineup of beers and cocktails like LIITs and Pina Coladas that get the job done. If you’re willing to shell out a little extra they’ve got imported liquor like Hoegaarden Beer and Captain Morgan Rum.
The Vault is known however for its party scene as the music is mostly from the Top 50 lists (and a few well-timed nostalgic hits) and the young crowd goes insane after a few drinks. The DJ sometimes plays Bollywood tunes as well. if you are party freak, then you will get the kind of party you want right here. Lastly, do note that they shut at midnight, so if you’re planning a big night out, we’d recommend going here first and probably going bar hopping next?
