Most of us love Pongal because the feast follows on for more than one day. The first day you’re having vadai and the next you’re eating sweet pongal and payasam. This Pongal is no different so here are the restaurants with the best Pongal saapadu in Chennai.

The Park

On January 15, enjoy a full virundhu (meal) with dishes like beans poriyal, steamed rice, rasam, sweet pongal, keerai vadai, mixed vegetables, keera vadai, maanga inji thayir sadam, sugarcane juice, and paruppu payasam, on a banana leaf at 601 restaurant. The feast starts from 12.30 pm (till 3:00 pm), don’t be late! This lunch is priced from INR 999.

Paati Veedu

For Pongal, you can enjoy an authentic seven-course thali at Paati Veedu that is served on the leaf and includes three drinks (lime & ginger juice, pineapple twister, musk melon juice), three starters, two tiffins (with dishes like murungai keerai adai, poli), one main course dish like tomato or lemon rice, rasam, sambar, vatakuzhambu, and one dessert (elaneer payasam is our fave). You can finish this with some suda suda coffee or tea. Filling eh?  The menu is priced at INR 1070 including taxes.
