What Makes It Awesome

Founded by Simmi Nanda, Ashish Chopra and Gaurav Chhibber, the story behind BeUnic is simple. They wanted to provide a platform for LGBTQ entrepreneurs and designers. Today, this community-oriented e-commerce platform has successfully made this happen and they deliver orders worldwide. One look at their collection and we are impressed AF! Clothing, scrunchies, notebooks, planters, tees, accessories --- you name it, they have it.

BeUnic started off in June 2019 with just footwear, heels for men - to be more specific. Gradually the horizons expanded and the brand became a marketplace for queer entrepreneurs. Two years later, they now have 22 entrepreneurs and designers from the LGBTQ community selling their products on the website. Their wide variety of products range from footwear to clothing, home decor to fashion accessories (they even have umbrellas!), stationery to self-care products, all handmade by queer people. I absolutely heart their Rainbow Collection which is cutesy and has rainbow-themed stuff from luggage tag sets to badges, wall hangings to earrings, and the list can go on.

With the common misconception that most peeps have, Ashish is quick to clarify that BeUnic is not a gay brand. Just because the products are made by queer people, it does not mean that the products are only for them. Irrespective of someone's gender, sexuality, body type or absolutely anything at all, there is definitely something unique for everyone here.

BeUnic's range starts from INR 200. And they start making the product once the order is placed, ensuring that every product is made specially for you. And since they ship all over the world, time to surprise your long-distance cousin or BFF?

Pro-Tip

BeUnic supports queer fundraisers and they donate a part of their sales to give back to the community too. While you are shopping from them, you can also donate to a queer cause or follow their blog to catch up with the community.
