What Makes It Awesome
In an age in which everything from home décor to jewellery and clothes can be DIY-ed, how can food be far behind? Ordook, started by three young entrepreneurs in April 2016, employs a concept which involves DIY-ing your own food via handy meal kits.
Choose from a menu of dishes {this keeps changing so you’re never bored}, and Ordook home delivers a meal kit with all the ingredients– including spices, herbs, sauces – required to cook your desired meal. The ingredients are pre-measured and pre-chopped, and very neatly, attractively packaged and labelled. All you have to do is follow the accompanying recipe, and the meal for two is ready between 20-30 minutes. The cuisines on offer are varied, and range from Italian and Thai to Lebanese, Greek, Spanish, and, of course, Indian. Favourites among customers include the grilled chicken with mango salsa, the Jamaican jerk paneer, the pad thai, and the pesto.
So how exactly does it work? Ordook functions on a subscription basis. Subscribe either to two meals in one week for INR 600, or four across a fortnight for INR 800, and select from ten exotic, mouth-watering recipes every week on their well-designed and colourful website. The ingredients are as authentic and freshly sourced apparently, and the recipes are crafted in such a way that they are easy to understand and follow.
