Caffeinated Cocktails: Homemade Happy Hours Are Easy & Real With These Recipes!
Dark Night Rises
We're letting out a secret with this one. Coffee and Rum are a match made in heaven and this cocktail tastes like a salted caramel affogato and makes a perfect evening cocktail. You will need all of four things, the most important being the Dark Roast Cold Brew Coffee from Korebi. Throw 'em all together and you've got yourself a Gordon Ramsay cocktail that hits all the flavour notes -- sweet, salty and savoury.
1. Make your Korebi Cold Brew Coffee. Keep it nice and chilled, ready to use.
2. In a cocktail shaker combine Rum, Honey Syrup (1:1 ratio), Cold Brew, Sea Salt and ice and shake well.
3. Strain over a big ice cube in a rock glass and add club soda.
4. Sprinkle a pinch of smoked salt on the top and garnish with a lemon wedge.
Kadak Masala Rum
Perplexed by the name? Don't be. This one's a hot cocktail (like a hot buttered rum) you should enjoy on a rainy evening (or morning, we don't judge). The textures are rich and buttery thanks to a teeny bit of coconut oil while the warming spices from the quintessential kadak chai, (we're using the one from TGL CO.) work their magic like always. In all, this cocktail will envelope you in a hug from within!
1. Steep your black masala chai in some hot water. Preferably for 5 to 8 minutes.
2. Pour into a mug and top it with Rum, Cognac or Bourbon.
3. Add sugar, half a teaspoon of coconut butter or regular butter (can sub with tender coconut flesh).
4. Stir till the sugar and butter melts and enjoy!
Ginger Sinner
A coffee cocktail that packs a punch regardless of its deceiving looks, the Ginger Sinner is a winner! If ginger puts you off, don't worry the cocktail also features sweetened condensed milk, Devans Original Cold Brew Coffee and Tequila. Can't say no to that holy trio now, can we?
1. Brew the Devans Original Cold Brew Coffee. Add this together with a tablespoon of fresh ginger juice into a shaker.
2. Add sweetened condensed milk (based on how creamy or sugary you prefer your drink)
3. Shake hard for a good 15 seconds.
4. Pour over ice in a tall glass and enjoy!
Herbal Gin Win
This drink could pass off as almost good for you and if you're serving it to your parents, much appreciation will come your way. It has all the goodness of Tulsi, Lemon Juice, Ginger, Gin and Chaika's Lemon Liquor Instant Tea Premix. And since you'll be using instant chai, one less step of brewing!
1. Muddle a half inch of fresh ginger together with tulsi leaves in a mixing glass
2. Add the instant tea powder mixed with some warm water, gin and lemon juice.
3. Shake well and strain into a tall glass full of ice.
4. Serve with a basil/tulsi leaf as garnish.
Scotch, Spice & Everything Nice
Do not mistake the ingredients of this coffee cocktail to make a plain 'ol shake, because this drink is indulgent as it is lethal. Boasting of beautiful flavours like bitter coffee, sweet honey, warm cinnamon and a kick of blended scotch, you may end up making Scotch, Spice & Everything Nice more once. Don't forget to use The Wandering Bean Cinnamon and Spice Handcrafted Coffee for this one.
1. Brew The Wandering Bean Coffee strong and with no sugar.
2. Combine this with scotch, honey and heavy cream in a cocktail shaker.
3. Add some ground cinnamon and a pinch of chilli powder and fill with ice.
4. Shake vigorously or till frothy.
5. Strain into a wine glass and top with a sprinkle of more cinnamon or chilli.
Not So Old Fashioned
You guessed this one, it's an Old Fashioned with a new tea twist. If you're committing to making this one, know that it will take some time, but the results will be super worth it. Earthy, aromatic and delightful. All you'll need is some Barley/wheat grains, Orange Juice, Whiskey and Chado Tea India Imperial Earl Grey (Darjeeling Base).
1. Steep the Chado Tea India Imperial Earl Grey Tea in a jar of barley or wheat together with whiskey for at least two hours.
2. Strain the infusion and mix with some honey and orange juice to taste.
3. Add ice cubes and stir till completely chill.
4. Strain this over 2 ice-filled rock glasses and top with a light dusting of cinnamon.
Naughty Martini
As much as we love the dirty martinis for an evening soiree, if you're into day-drinking (hey, no judgements), you will find your mid-day pick-me-up in this Naughty Martini. It's also the easiest cocktail to make on this list, so long as your stash of vodka is full and you have Farmgate's strong Espresso Coffee. Since we like the deep, dark flavours, we also suggest you throw in some dark caramel for bitter sweetness.
1. Make stronger decoction than you normally would using Farmgate's strong Espresso Coffee.
2. Add the bittersweet homemade caramel to this to taste. You can also add kahlua or coffee liqueur at this point (optional)
3. Add vodka and ice cubes and stir till completely chill.
4. Strain this into a chilled martin glass that is lined with some more caramel and sip away
