What Makes It Awesome

At 9am Kumareshan tiffin stall is filled with people, mostly office goers, who are busy devouring soft, piping hot idly-vadai. Some people are there just for their morning coffee/tea and some of them have ordered breakfast to be parceled. This stall has been around for 20 years and is a hit among people living in Anna Nagar.  And why not? We love how all the dishes taste just like how it is made at home, courtesy Kala akka, the owner of the place.

What’s on the menu? For lunch, curd rice, lemon rice, tomato rice, tamarind rice, sambar rice, and veg biriyani starting INR 30. For quick snacks, there is sandwich (cheese and chilli), vadai, samosa, poli, athirasam, ribbon pakoda, onion pakoda, omapudi, karachev, and chips starting INR 12. You can swing by for tea too, for INR 12.

Come summer and it gets difficult to place an order with Kala akka who is stormed by people for the fresh juice that is prepared at the stall. From apple, mosumbi, pineapple, watermelon, to lemon, their fresh juice is the perfect thirst quencher you are looking for. So the next time you are looking for veetu saapadu at a budget hit up Kala akka’s tiffen stall, who is every ready to serve you with a pleasing smile. We love how happy-go-lucky she is!
