Pretty Girl in Cenotaph Road has fabric material with off-beat designs for kurtis and saris.

What Makes It Awesome

The biggest nightmare for a girl is to land up at a place and find two other people wearing the same kurti that she is wearing. We know that cringe-worthy feeling and will never want you to go through that. So here's a little tip - check out this tiny store in Alwarpet, called Pretty Girl. They have kurtis, fabric and readymade clothes with unique designs and prints that you will fall in love with.

Find fabric in different materials like crepe, georgette, synthetic and cotton. If you think kalamkari and ikat have been overdone, then check out fabric with traditional prints like temple gopurams and houses. If you are looking for material to mix match with your saree, then check out fabric with Indian folk art like Pattachitra and Madhubani. Be summer ready with their collection of plain kurtas in pastel shades. Floral designs have a special place in your heart? You will find aplenty at this store that can just be paired with plain-coloured leggings.

Moving on to the section where they have fabric stocked for sarees. We found prints like kalamkari, chintz in silk-cotton, and synthetic at prices starting from INR 150 per metre. They also have ikat fabric with Banarasi designs and mirror work which is a unique, yet interesting combination. We also found bandhej, bandhani, batik, and block print on the sari fabrics. Our fave was a plain white cotton material with quirky prints of colourful squares. A little off-beat, but why not? Who says you need to travel long distances to find your perfect fabric? Give this store a shot, and maybe you might find the one!

Pro-Tip

There is a tailor in the store who will alter the readymade kurtis for you on the spot.
