What Makes It Awesome

Tucked inside a by lane on Kilpauk Garden Road is this almost quaint looking bungalow bearing a red sign that says M.A.D House. And honestly, it’s indeed a little crazy inside. Filled with quirky elements from treasure boxes to electric bells mounted on a wall, this is a casual dining restaurant that surprises you with funky décor and peppy music with every step you take. With each room inside having its own unique theme and offering you your own personal space, M.A.D House is perfect for all those looking to simply unwind and chat away without having to worry about being loud.

As for their menu, it’s lined with some crazy variety too, spread across Italian, North and South Indian and desi Chinese dishes. We started off with some nachos and Chinese bhel that come plated in beautiful oval plates. Tossed in ketchup and some garam masala, the fried noodles with the crunchy veggies in the Chinese bhel totally hit the spot. The nachos that came with a well-seasoned cheesy corn dip instead of the typical layering of beans and cheese also added a refreshing touch to the usual nacho-eating experience.

With variety in everything being the central theme at M.A.D House, we chose to stick to it in our dish selection as well. While the Italian section called Brezza offered a great mix of pizzas, burgers and garlic breads, we went with a portion of herbed pasta, spinach and corn garlic bread that had just the right amount of seasoning and a creamy, cheesy aftertaste. The Tawa Pulav and fried podi idli from the Indian section turned out to be absolutely bombastic and went well with our Masala Lemonade. And to top it all off, we got ourselves a nice trifle cup layered with brownie, black forest cake, vanilla ice cream drizzled with chocolate sauce. Called the Blackforest Icecream Fudge, this totally got our taste-o-meter buzzing.  M.A.D House definitely has our vote, and we hope you find your crazy here, too. Just make sure if you're going with a huge gang, you make a reservation in advance.  As for the price, a meal for two costs about INR 600.
