On some days, all we need is somewhere we can break things and shout and let out all the rage that we've been building up because of, well, life. Thankfully, Chennai has a rage room, a space for you to vent out your frustration and relieve stress by smashing and destroying whatever is in that particular room. You will have safety gear like helmets, goggles, gloves and a safety suit as well. You can break things like plates, glass bottles and even electronics.
The rage room has become immensely popular as soon as it was established and the slots fill up quickly. Not just to release anger but the rage room is also great for having fun and breaking things with your friends. What is great about this place is its commitment to sustainability, all items are purchased from scrapyards. All the scrap pieces that are broken at the end of each day are returned to the scrapyards to categorize the waste.
You get 45 minutes per slot and can use baseball bats, a sledgehammer and smaller hammers. There are cameras for safety purposes, the staff checks in every 15 minutes to see if you’re doing okay, and simultaneously clear up the area of broken items. You get to enter only with your friends in a group of a maximum of four people and strangers are not put into the room together.
You are also allowed to bring your own things to break. BYOB, or Bring Your Own Breakables such as glass, plastic, and ceramic. However, they do not allow any electronics. If you don’t know what to do about something you’ve been wanting to get rid of, just bring it and smash it to pieces all to your heart's content.
At the cafe, you can have an array of tasty and affordable dishes. Their best dishes are the Ceylon fish parotta, saucy beef poppers, pepper chicken, chilly chicken, chicken biriyani and kothu parotta. The restaurant has a variety of board games to play while waiting for your food to be prepared. If you get tired after letting all that rage loose just head upstairs and have a bite to eat.
