Waiting for namma Thailava’s film, Endhiran3.0? Yes, we just had to make that reference. Don’t worry. There’s something you can do in the meantime. Check into India’s first ever robot-themed restaurant, Robot for a dose of high-tech service. It has two outlets in Chennai - Semmancheri and Porur.
Make a reservation at Robot and be greeted by one of the four bots on board. Each bot is handled by an operator who happens to be human. You can place an order on the tab screen at each table and she will deliver your food. At the OMR branch, they have neon art all around and even feature our fave bot of all time – Wall-E – on one of the walls. Come to think of it, the bots remind us of Wall-E's girlfriend, Eva with an apron. The place is lit with strips on blue UV light and they have comfortable leather sofas to lounge on. All of their wall art is robot centric!
At Robot, they specialise in making Indo-Chinese and Thai cuisine. If you are a sucker for Chinese, then order up a Tom Yum Soup along with moist dumplings to go. We also love their tangy Chicken starter. We suggest you go for their Phuket fish cooked slowly and Thai style. They even have North Indian and South Indian options such as Andhra style gobi and or Gongura chicken. Choose from their menu of mocktails and shakes to go. An ice-cream milkshake is the best dessert to end your meal with.
They are open from 12 pm to 3 pm and reopen again from 7 pm to 11 pm. Hey! Robots also need some rest.
