Tucked away in the tropical woodlands of Portuguese Goa lay a village famed for its rum. A rum, as legend has it, that was part of the most valuable treasure in history. Segredo Aldeia is a retelling of this famous rum, recreated at a place not far from where its story was birthed. Portuguese for ‘Secret Village’- Segredo Aldeia draws from Goa’s rich & diverse history to recreate a spirit from an era gone by.
Distilled by Fullarton Distillers, Segredo Aldeia is available in two variants- a white rum and a cafe rum. The Segredo Aldeia White Rum has a clear appearance with a slight yellow tint. On the nose, you can smell vanilla, sweet wood, and toffee. On the palate, you get sweet wood, herbs, peaches and cream. The rum has a dry finish with lingering notes of caramel & vanilla.
The Segredo Aldeia Café Rum on the other hand has a clear appearance with deep amber. On the nose, you can smell coffee with hints of toffee and vanilla. It's got undertones of tobacco & leather. It's sweet on the palate and you get that offee forward taste with notes of sweet wood & a dark chocolate finish.
Both these rums are available in Goa starting at INR 1,500.
