What Makes It Awesome

The Kala Chaupal Trust, a non-profit organisation based out of Gurgaon, works closely with traditional artisans, weavers and craftsmen spread across the different parts of the country. Their business verticle, Jaipur Kala Chaupal LLP (@ShopChaupal), retails traditional handicrafts, facemasks, home decor and lots more made by these local Indian artists.

Their collection of handcrafted ceiling lamps (INR 3,000) is incredible. These geometrical lamps have stunning patterns, motifs and doodles painted on leather and are available in different shades. You can also shop for these made-to-order, brass tealight holders (INR 3,299) in three different shapes.

Patachitra, Dongria Kondh, Chikankari, Kantha Embroidery, Cheriya, Dabu, Bagru and so many more - their facemasks (starting at INR 385) are made by local craftsmen, where each mask represents the rich culture of the different regions they come from. You can find a number of different prints and designs to choose from.

These folks have also sourced a bunch of other regional handicrafts sourced from brands based out of Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and almost every corner of the country. Jaipuri Razai from Rajasthan, Tea Kettles with Patachitra artwork from Odisha, Earthenware Water Pot from Delhi - the list is endless and spread across categories.

Pro-Tip
