Whether you’re someone who breaks into kuthu moves as soon as Aaluma Doluma plays, or is currently listening to Havana by Camila Cabello on loop, we’ve found places in Chennai that offer something special for every kind of party animal! If you’re looking to dance all night or at least till the club shuts, we’ll tell you where to go.

Kollywood Nights

If you are looking to dance to some Danda Naka, Pasha at The Park Hotel in Nungambakkam is the place to be. Yes, we have a club in the city that has hardcore Kuthu nights every Tuesday. They even play some classic tracks, sung by the legendary SPB {SP Balahsubramanyam}, in films starring Kamal Hassan and Thalaiva. So head to Pasha to experience Chennai’s best collection of music which starts at 8pm but the best time to go would be around midnight. The entry fee is INR 2,500 per couple.

EDM Nights

Where are the EDM fans at? Get shuffling on weekends at the QBar at The Hilton Chennai in Guindy. This rooftop bar is  perfect for a night of drinks and partying hard with your main squeeze, and you can even chill alongside the pool. Head here post 11.30pm on Saturday nights because that’s when the music gets really thumpin’. The entry fee is around INR 1,000.

If you want to get somewhere a bit earlier before you head to Qbar, check out Radio Room in MRC nagar for amazing cocktails and a great overall vibe. Saturday nights are a lot of fun with top commercial tracks but the only downside is that the place shuts by midnight.

Bollywood Nights

Get ready to sing along or maybe after a couple of drinks scream along to your favourite SRK tracks and groove to Chalti Hai Ka 9 Se 12 at Studio – The Slate in Nungambakkam every Wednesday night. While most of your typical Bollywood dance numbers are covered, what’s special about the place is that their playlist churns out some 90’s music every once in a while. Take a trip down memory lane with Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and some of 2000’s cult tracks. Unfortunately stags aren’t allowed, but couples can walk in for free.

And we are not done yet! Post midnight every Wednesday night, if you still haven’t had enough, head to Chipstead in Nungambakkam {INR 1,000 per couple and INR 2,000 for stag} that hosts Bollywood night till the early hours of the morning.

Psst! Here’s a tip for biryani fanatics, don’t forget to accompany your whisky with some Gilli Biryani from Anise, the restaurant right next to Chipstead in Taj Coromandel.

Gatsby 2000 at Crowne Plaza in Alwarpet {INR 3,000 for a couple} too is the spot to consider, especially if you’re looking for a night high on both Bollywood and Kollywood music.

So where will we see you next?
