Subtle, flavourful and easier to swallow knowing that they’re good for you, fruits and nuts are star ingredients for desserts if you ask us. Two underrated ones? Apples and walnuts.
Provided by Washington Apple Commission & California Walnut Commission, they’re stealing the show at this year’s Dessert Bazaar, one baker at a time.
Georgia Dakota
If there’s one thing we can rely on Georgia Dakota for, it’s innovative creations, and you can bet she isn’t going to disappoint. With a stellar set of offerings like AppleBerry Crumble Muffins, Rocky Mountain Granola and Cinnamon Swirl Banana Cake {both with walnuts}, eating fruits and nuts has never been this much fun.
There’s also an Apple Cake with Caramel Praline to get excited about. Drool.
Baked Love by Vatsala

We're big fans of Baked Love by Vatsala- she nails everything she bakes, so we're equally excited about her apple and walnut fare. She's doing her version of the ever-so-comforting apple cake and the fairly unusual walnut fudge. We hear there’s a Walnut Pie in the works too; you’ll just have to show up and find out.
The Mellow Yellow Co.
There is very little that a combination of apple and cinnamon can’t cure, and The Mellow Yellow Co. are clued in and how. You can expect Apple Cinnamon Cake Squares from them, created in their signature style. Don’t pass this one by.

Deepali Modi also goes the apple-cinnamon way with her Dessert Art Signature Apple Cinnamon cake, with added walnuts for a change in texture. If you could quantify warmth and happiness in the form of food, we’d say this is it.
The Bombaykery
Tarts and brownies fall under the umbrella of The Bombaykery’s specialties and they’re honing their skills alright. You can expect Mini Apple Tarts from them, a small kick of fruit that’s easy to consume without being overwhelming. We’re also looking forward to their Walnut Brownies, just because there’s nothing better than a brownie full of walnuts.
