To begin with, it’s super cosy and very chic with a play of teal and watercolour art, it’s a mix of hipster and bohemian much like a place straight out of SoHo!
What makes it better is that Fifth Avenue specialises in cupcakes, and from my last visit, I learned they even customise the cupcakes. Not just with frostings and sprinkles, they bake them on order making them super fresh and oven hot. You could pick up ready ones, but it’s a good idea to sit over a coffee and a conversation and wait for a cupcake made just for you.
They also have cold-pressed juices, milkshakes, and smoothies, but a true blue cupcake accompaniment has got to be a cup of good coffee. Among the cupcakes, we loved the chocolate, strawberry shortcake, and the Nutella ones (of course). But with an option to customise, you can make one that’s unique to how you like a cupcake to be done!
They also serve up a host of other desserts - from fresh cheesecakes (the salted caramel is to die for), lemon and chocolate tarts, snickerdoodle cookies, and biscotti to what they call East Side Cakes and the selection includes, Gucci Chocolate Truffle, Louboutin Red Velvet, and Armani Hazelnut Nutella, and more.
If you’d like to sit longer, then make a meal of it and binge on salads and sandwiches, they also have a selection of soft tacos and bagels, but what sounded appetising were the BBQ mutton sliders and the New Orleans Muffuletta Sandwich!
