We’re surprised by Gurgaon every time we find ourselves this side of town and, this time, we discovered quaint, dhaba-style restaurant, Kuzo’s.

Hide Out From The Heat

A solitary fan whirs away at Kuzo’s, located in Gold Souk Mall, while the music alternates between folksy, Punjabi tunes and James Blunt’s ‘You’re Beautiful’. The café is predominantly done up in green elements – whether it’s the potted money plants, the empty aquarium, the jade green umbrella to keep you shaded from the sun or the nursery-style roofing that gives everything a green glow.

When it gets too hot outside, the staff at Kuzo’s splashes water on the sandy flooring and, just like that, the temperature inside this restaurant dips a bit. Of course, the desert cooler helps and, had we not known that we were in Gurgaon, Kuzo’s could just as easily be a hip, roadside dhaba.

What’s On The Menu?

There’s a little bit of everything, really. From pizzas to Maggi and burgers to tikkas, the two-page menu at Kuzo’s is a wonderful representation of all kinds of comfort food. We gravitated to their paratha section and ordered a big keema one, a portion of Dal Fry and a Fresh Lime Soda {sweet and salted, obviously}. Everything we tried was flavourful, filling and super hygienic.

On our way out, we asked the owner for his recommendation and he told us that seafood is a big focus at Kuzo’s. Next time, we’ll be getting some Prawn Tempura and a portion of their Ajwain Fish Tikka.

So, We’re Saying…

Multi-cuisine might be the only way to describe Kuzo’s food philosophy but, thankfully, that isn’t their downfall. North Indian mains {Dal Makhani, for instance}, buttery parathas and fresh fish dishes – it’s all well-made and yummy.
