What Makes It Awesome

India’s first private forest reserve, The Kikar Lodge in Punjab makes for a great home away from home. Experience warmth, comfort, and adventure, all in one space, while you take this spectacular jungle holiday with family and friends!

Nestled in the Shivalik foothills, the Kikar Lodge is on the Northern periphery of Punjab (Ropar, to be precise). It’s a road trip away from Delhi (admit it, road trips are fun) and once you get there, you definitely want to kick off your city shoes and make the forest your home for a few days.

Surrounded by a forest (comprising Kikar trees), this place is quite a hoot (the number of owls you hear at night will pleasantly surprise you!). The lodge has 30 cottages (for families and couples) and they have basic amenities to offer. Since there is a lot to do here, we suggest you take the family or a group of friends and make an unforgettable trip out of it.

Since the lodge is in a secluded area, they have a bunch of activities lined up for you. If you’re an adventure freak, you can trek through the 1,800 acres of reserved forest. They have more than 180 different species of birds you can chase or photograph, whilst your trek. They also have quad biking, rappelling, paintball, night safari, horse riding and cycling to choose from.

They have a set of indoor games too, in case you’re not a very outdoorsy person. You can enjoy a game of carom or pool with a chilled beer or just play a game of table tennis and watch yourself lose (or win!) Since you’re already in the pind, you can experience some tractor rides through farmlands too or play some volleyball, cricket or badminton, in case you miss playing these sports back home.

If your family has been stressing over school, college or work stuff, this is your chance to take your car out, tank up on gas and head out to The Kikar Lodge for a memorable and action-packed getaway.

Price: INR 7,000 per night
